Tyson Update

Thanks for the prayers guys, Tyson had his trach surgery at 930 AM this morning. He did perfectly. Keep praying!!
 

Sunday Night Notables

• I stripped this weekend hoping to encourage all of us to strip away anything that is troubling people from coming to Jesus and turning to God.
• I was getting some serious razzing from everyone about WV drop kicking KY out of the tournament yesterday....not sure if they were WV fans or just KY haters but all I know is that they were all pretty excited. :)
• Its official I came in last in the bracket with my children....they all dominated me.
• The music was amazing, we have had a fair share of issues getting adjusted to the new location with sound and lighting, but our guys don't let it hurt their performance....those guys are amazing.
• One of our OCStudents joined the band today and he lit it up, so awesome to see our Students taking ownership of the Church, greeting, serving in OCKids and even in production and Music, its awesome that they realize that they are the Church, they don't just come to Church.
• By the way, if you are a Student or have one, make sure you secure your spot for camp this Summer, Louie Giglio and Fee will be leading the services.
• Speaking of lighting, wow, today the lighting dominated our guys, but they rolled with it and proved that they are second to none when it comes to producing a service.
• I know that we are still adjusting to the new location and are having our fair share of problems but I am really settling in and already liking it better and I really like seeing people be able to hang out afterwards.
• The new location is very cool for OC Kids to, I've heard that with the new set up the Kids are loving it and their much more interactive.
• Speaking of OC Kids Stacy and I had a guest last week and when she picked up her little boy he immediately told her all that he learned....Stacy was so proud of our workers, you guys have no idea the impact you are making.
• It excites Stacy and I so much when we bring friends and Origins and you all blow their minds with your kindness and excitement about OUR Church....thank you all so much for making people feel so welcome when they come and giving them a desire to come back.
• I hope God has placed some people on your heart to invite next week, I love celebrating the resurrection.
• I also hope you all plan to come out Saturday for the Easter Egg Hunt at Cottell Park Origins and Deerfield Township are partnering together to love on the community, we would still benefit from your help if you can, email joel@originschurch.tv.
• We are having a Good Friday Prayer time at Hopewell, if you have any prayer concerns or would like to just come together with us and pray for the the guests who God will bring for Easter please come out at 6:30pm
• I'm really excited about Easter and praying with you all about the guests that you are inviting.

Please Pray with Me

 
 I wanted to ask you to please pray with me about a little boy who attends our Franklin Campus named Tyson Herrington.  He is a beautiful little boy with amazing parents and a wonderful older brother who have fought hard to give him the greatest quality of life possible despite many physical difficulties from the start.  Ty was born with cervical instability at the C1 C2 level so he has been in and out of hospitals since he was born 5.5 months ago.  He is currently in Cincinnati Children's, where he's been for a month now.  I have spoken to Lane and Azure and I am so encouraged by their faith and hope despite the difficulties.  I ask you to please pray with me and them that God will give the doctors wisdom and continue to give them guidance to use His strength.  As Azure updates me I will start to update you, I know that God will allow them to feel the effects of our collective prayers as a body.  Thank you ahead of time for embracing this family with your prayers.

Sunday Night Notables

• We had a solid weekend for sure, we are still getting adjusted to the new location and had a few technical glitches but our teams are so awesome that they pulled through them with excellence.
• We had Marsha and her husband with us who is a teacher at Taylor Academy which is a school that is filled with primarily low income and below the poverty level students.
• We have been working with Marsha, Taylor Academy, as well as Faces without Places (a agency that concentrates of love income and homeless children in downtown Cincinnati) to help bring these children hope and love in the name of Jesus through parties we throw and events we sponcer as well as mentoring and tutoring.
• Maleek was with us Sunday who is a 8th grade young man who has been blessed by some of our efforts there, he read a speech he prepared for us thanking us for our investment in the 7th and 8th grade classes.
• If you feel led to participate in some of our efforts there then right now you can email joel@originschurch.tv and he will give you some details about 3 ways you can participate right now which is helping financially for the Washington DC trip that the classes are hoping to be able to go on if they can raise enough money, or even get you info on mentoring and tutoring.
• While you are emailing joel it would be cool if you are going to be around Easter weekend if you would help us LOVE on all the children in a close proximity to Cottel Park with the Easter Egg Hunt just let us know and we will have a spot for you.
• I hope you are all getting excited about Easter, I am so excited I can hardly stand it!
• I have a special prayer request that I want to ask you all to join me in praying about, Ill fill you in tomorrow so please check back.

Sunday Night Notables

• 3 people accepted Jesus as their Savior this weekend!
• 14 people followed Jesus in baptism this weekend!
• We had guests with us today who are called by God to head to North Africa with their two children to minister to a primarily Muslim culture.
• The place that they are headed is a closed country.
• I'm so grateful for all of you who give generously to Origins which allows us to give to efforts to reach the remotest parts of the earth.
• The music this weekend was smoking for sure, I kept thinking about Peru and North Africa during the song All over the World and I was tearing up.
• I was so proud of all of you for filling up those Hati buckets, you guys are all so awesome.
• 3 guys from my very own community group got baptized this morning, its so amazing watching God move and allow me to see it up close and personal like that.
• I met some couples today that are completely new to Church, it never gets seeing people trust Origins with their un-churched friends and seeing those friends enjoy our services and hear about Jesus' great gospel.
• My heart was so full seeing all of those men getting baptized, I really get excited when I see men stand up and do what God leads them to do.
• I am really digging the new location, we are still getting adjusted but it is already feeling like home.
• There was alot of energy in the service and the lobby is buzzing before and after the service.
• Stacy was able to lead two of the people who accepted Christ during the service.
• Brock and Tina did an amazing job of planning and executing baptism today, I am truly humbled by the leadership that God has brought to lead Origins.
• It was so fun watching some basketball this weekend with my boys, they have become true UK fans. :)
• I am getting real excited about Easter, I can feel things starting to swell and I think it might hit full tilt Easter weekend.
• I love Origins and am so grateful God allows me to be a part of her!

Sunday Night Notables

• We had someone accept Jesus this weekend, its so great to be able to say that so often, because it proves that you guys continue to trust us with your friends who don't know Jesus.
• The music this weekend was so great, the energy was awesome and the country flavor that Wes brought was incredible.
• We moved into our new location and our teams blew me away with there hard work to get everything up and running.
• We still have a little ways to go till we get the place up to Origins standard but it was a great start for sure!
• I'm really excited about our new series starting next week.
• We have something we are doing next week that I really believe God is going to work through.
• There is a little boy at our Franklin Campus who has some serious medical battles that he has been and is facing ever since he was born, his mom and dad are awesome and they are trusting God. Would you pray with me for his healing and the care that the doctors give him, his name is Tyson.
• I have gotten some awesome emails recently reminding me how special Origins is....for many of us we come Sunday and its business as usual, but for many people who are guests its truly the start of life change.....I'm so grateful for all of you who make it happen each and every week.
• Easter around the OC is going to be awesome, I can't wait!
• Brock and I met with the Pastor of the Church next store to the school and we had a wonderful time getting to know each other, he came over yesterday morning and said hello which was very cool.
• Stacy did amazing both weeks, I know so many people where impacted by what God led her to say, I am so thankful for her.
• I heard we had many of the teens serving today and from what I hear they added awesome energy and helped out a ton.
• We handed out buckets today for people to fill up and then bring back to go to Hati, I'm not sure exactly how many we handed out but I know that we cleared out almost every Walmart and Home Depot in the area. :)
• I got an awesome email about something that happened in OC Kids with my son and my nephew yesterday, I share more later this week.  I love OC KIds so much!
• I am mad grateful for the leadership, and volunteer teams God has brought together at Origins to accomplish his mission, I truly believe the best is yet to come.
• I love Origins!
