Peru Update

In case any of you are wondering about some of the impact that Origins left in Peru here is a recent email that Alan sent us....and after you read keep this in mind- this is just the start of what God is going to do globally through Origins!

Dear Origins Peru Team of Jan. 2010,

Hi from Lima! Here we are at our camp about 1 1/2 hours north of Lima. This week is our Pastors camp with their families as well. We love this week every year - great fellowship with the Lord's servants, excellent messages to re-charge our spiritual batteries, and hearing how God is working around Peru.

We're attaching pictures of our church the first Sunday after you left with a NEW FLOOR - and then last Sunday with new carpet. THANK YOU, ORIGINS!!!


Just a brief report of the medical campaign/kids ministries/evangelism:

Monday church - "Luz" - It looks like so far they have gained 6 adults and 10 children, faithfully to the services. Two of the adults came as a result of the medical campaign, and have been saved since, 3 were saved that Monday and 1 was already a Christian but is now back with the Lord.

We need to get with the Tuesday church in Vina Alta, to ask them about results.

From our church that Wednesday, our Sunday AM attendance has grown about 15 more each Sunday. Many of the visitors are from the medical campaign, adults and children. Pastor Antenor and church members are diligently visiting the ones who made decisions and the families who registered that day.

The Thursday church in Chorrillos, Maranatha, sent a letter to us, the Salamanca church, and to you that we're translating and copying below.

Thank you all so much for coming - and thank you to the rest of the church for praying, giving, and sending the Origins Team to Peru!

I greet you in the name of Jesus. May God bless you greatly. The purpose of this letter is to thank you for sharing all that you shared the day of the medical campaign. I want to thank you on behalf of Maranatha Baptist Church of Chorrillos, to all the teams of campaign workers, for the blessing that you brought to us Thursday the 21st of Jan. I have heard many testimonies of others and members of the church with words of gratitude for all they received, and testimonies of appreciation for the medicines they received. And also for the photos and the children's program, and gifts for all.
The report of attention we have without counting the haircuts and gynecology is 206 - Dental 57, general medicine 103, podiatry 38, counseling 10, 10 salvation decisions, 7 rededications.

Many thanks and may God bless you all and may you continue working for the glory and honor of the Lord. We will be upholding you in prayer.

Sunday Night Notables

• God blew our mind with the launch of the Franklin campus, there were tons of guests and the production was hitting on all cylinders.
• Our music both Saturday and Sunday was off the chain, my voice hurts tonight not from preaching but from singing my guts out.
• Last week after the service I had a gentleman come down to the stage with his wife and teenage daughter and express how God had used Origins in the past few months in their lives and this week a lady come down and said she felt led to pray for me, I'm truly humbled by what God is allowing me to be a part of at Origins.
• This week was a pretty rough week for me for some reason so this weekends services served me so well and I feel pretty whole right now....I truly believe there is something special that takes place when you gather with others to worship Jesus.
• During our family worship service this week Shaye told us all that "Jesus died on the cross to take hers and our sin"....at that very moment I was overwhelmed with gratitude for Shannon and all of our OCKids workers.
• I teared up this afternoon as I read all of the names of people that many of our OCpeeps are praying for and pursuing open doors.
• We announced today that we are moving locations, our run at the theater has been a good one, but the bigger we get and the busier the theater has gotten the harder it has been to coexist.
• It seems like God is already going ahead of us giving us favor with our new location.
• We welcomed Dr. Chad Miller today as our newest Elder.
• Im am so grateful to have such very Godly men locally as well as Godly Pastors non local around me as I seek to lead Origins the direction Jesus asks us to go.
• We have some really exciting new coming soon to the OCStudents and the OCYoung Adults areas of the Church.
• Speaking of the OCYoung Adults we are having a Super Bowl party this coming Sunday Night so I expect all of you to come give Brock a hard time with me while watching his Colt play.
• I believe this is the most exciting time to date to be a part of Origins, I am holding on tight and trying not to get whiplash.
• I love Origins and am grateful to get to be a part of it!
