Wes killed some Johnny Cash today and everyone loved it.
It was about 300 degrees in the theater today I think.
The Harry Potter movie started during my message today, I think it woke a few people up who were catching a snooze during the message.
I'm praying about some big things for Origins, I would appreciate you to pray with me.
I'm amped up about OC Students starting next week.
I've enjoyed the Ultimate Fighter Series, but I am really excited about starting Contend next week, I believe God is leading us into a new season at Origins.
We had a Student Leadership meeting today and as I looked around the table, I couldn't help but acknowledge that God had brought the perfect team together.....it so awesome to see Gods involvement.
This weekend is going to be a great weekend starting with a camp out Friday night and then a Field day on Saturday.
If you don't have plans to come hang out on Saturday then you are crazy, you need to reschedule and come, if you want details send me an email @ scotty@originschurch.tv
I love Origins and I am so grateful for the amazing community of people that God has allowed my family to be a part of.....there is no greater Church in the world.
Today we had our second installment of Ultimate Fighter and I got beat by a teenage girl named Sunshine in xbox's UFC Undisputed in front of the whole Church.
I have already challenged her to a rematch because the heckling of me hasn't even begun to slow down.....this weekend you better watch out Sunshine!
We had our Leadership Meeting last night because this week is going to be crazy busy, and I continue to feel so blessed because of the people God has called to Origins to lead His Church.
This is the OC Missional Living week where we will be found in non-stop serving all week and we are already underway, so if you are in the Cincy area and want to love on the Greater Cincinnati Area with us then email joel@oriinschurch.tv.
Here are some of the things we will be doing:
Giving out frisbees and water at local parks
Hanging 5,000 door-hangers in area neighborhoods
Hosting OC Kids Fest a free festival for area Kids behind the Regal Cinema's which will include things such as acrobats, stilt walkers, and huge blow up rides.
Sponsoring the Fun Family Film Festival at the Regal (Free Childrenʼs Movies
this Tuesday and Wednesday)
Taking a group of homeless children from project connect for a grill out and rafting.
I love Origins and am so grateful to serve a Church where we actual show that we love Jesus, each other, and those around us instead of just saying it.
We started a new series today on Temptation called Ultimate Fighter.
Aaron and the band were fired up for sure and I loved every minute of it.
Tons of guests today, I am so grateful to have a Church where people are praying for and inviting their friends and family.
I saw my girl Cindy before the service and she was excited that a friend that she had been praying for had finally come after months of invitations.
I also heard that some people had guests show up who they didn't even know were coming.....glad we leave it all on the field every week or we might not have been ready for them.
Shaye moved up this morning into to the pre-k class and she was really excited.
OC Kids is the best children's ministry in the city hands down as far as partnering with the parents in growing with their children...Stacy and I spend every Saturday Night reviewing with our children what they learned the previous week and getting them ready for the coming Sunday with the take homes OC Kids send home and it's awesome. Shannon, her room leaders and all of our vols back there are amazing and you all should regularly tell them so.
The new Origins Shirts have been designed and are going to print soon, so all you peeps out there anxious for OC apparel just a little longer to wait. :) they are gonna look sick by the way
I just got a text from my man Chip who drives at least 35 minutes to Origins with his family every week and he wrote "I do appreciate a church that I can invite people and they actually come back"
I had some friends at Origins again that are looking for a Church, keep praying with me that choose Origins.
Stacy was wearing a TapOut shirt that I bought her today and she looked smokin hot!
We had some ladies and some gentleman on stage today arm wrestle and it was alot of fun, the girls were excited about it the guys seemed reluctant.
We've got another little competition planned for next week, hopefully we can pull it off.
The stage looked sweet today we had a octagon feel working, our set-up and tear-down teams are off the chain good.
Tons of people were talking about the message today, I'm thinking God led us to this series at the right time for Origins for sure.
We have something really special planned for week 3, if all works according to plan, it will yet be another unforgettable Sunday at the OC.
Our Students had a pool party today, wish I could have stopped by.
I'm excited about our Student area, we have some exciting things planned, it's been a long time coming and I'm grateful that it's finally here.
We are starting to see some diversity in age at Origins and I'm loving it, people always comment on how young we are but now I'm looking around and seeing more people from all ages getting their worship on with us.
What I have found to be true is anyone who likes to see people accept Christ and grow in their relationship to Jesus through the uncompromised preaching of the Bible put their preferences on the back burner.
Stacy and I talk almost every week when we get home from Church about how much we love Origins and how we think its the greatest Church in the world.
I love Origins, and am so grateful God is allowing me to give my life to her in ministry!
We announced we are going back to one service next week, but only for a few months until we grow out of the new theater again.
We opened up over 100 new seats which means we have tons of new seats for all your friends and family who don't know Christ.
Maybe you can invite some of them this week as we begin our new series Ultimate Fighter and look at temptation.
I know everyone is not a fan of MMA, but it is very popular in the Greater Cincinnati area, and I have a huge burden to reach into that fan base with the Gospel.
Brandon who was one of our original launch team fought a few months ago and donated all the money he got from the gate to our Christmas Offering. Joel turned his victory into a invite video so enjoy it (see if you can make out my head in the video) and send it to all your friends and family to invite them this weekend to Origins.
The band was amazing today for sure, my second service message went a bit long though so we had to cut the second set of worship......thats a positive thing about going back to one, we will have a bit more margin if I run a little long.
Our load in and load out teams are amazing, we have some things to figure out with the new theater but I thin in the long run it is going to be great.
I really liked the new theater, I think it is gonna be a good fit for us for sure, I am looking forward to seeing it get filled up with people who need to hear and grow in the gospel.
I was so overwhelmed with all the OCers that came out and volunteered with us at the Mason Red, Rythem, and Boom festival.......they were seriously impressed to.
I worked the slap shot game and I pulled my hamstring somehow.....I am seriously a loser, who pulls a hamstring that way.
Stacy and I were talking this weekend about how grateful we are that God is allowing us to serve a church full of people who we actually love being with.....I know so many Pastors who would never hang out with people in their Church socially because their interests and such are so different, but that's not the case with us.
Don't forget to bring some vitamins with you this week and drop them off at the missional living table for Peru.
I was so glad to be back preaching today, it is truly one of my favorite things to do.
I love Origins with every bit of my heart!
Don't forget to bring someone with you this week as we kick off Ultimate Fighter.
