Lies and their counter truth:
Thought Life- I can’t help it.
Colossians 3:2
2(A)Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Consequence of Sin- There is no consequence for my wrong actions.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Honesty- I will look better if I lie.
Ephesians 4:25
25Therefore, (A)laying aside falsehood, (B)SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are (C)members of one another.
Forgiveness- I can’t forgive them, they don’t deserve it.
Colossians 3:13
13(A)bearing with one another, and (B)forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; (C)just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
Pride- I think I am somebody, and have done something.
1 Corinthians 1:31

Change- I can’t help it I am following my parents and what I’ve learned.
Romans 12:2

Revenge- They deserve it; I am being just.
James 1:19

Speech- I can’t control my tongue.
Ephesians 4:29
29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Selfishness- My deal is more important than anyone else's.
Philippians 2:3
3Do nothing from (A)selfishness or (B)empty conceit, but with humility of mind (C)regard one another as more important than yourselves;
Materialism- As soon as I get something else I’ll be set.
Proverbs 30:8
8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
Authority- I don’t agree with the rules so I don’t need to obey them.
Romans 13
Submission to the Authorities
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Stewardship- I own my stuff.
1 Chronicles 29:11
11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Evangelism- My actions and words aren’t connected to others coming to Jesus.
Colossians 4:5
5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.
Church- My consistency and participation isn’t important.
Hebrews 10:25
25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Relationships- I can handle their influence.
Proverbs 13:20
20 He who walks with the wise grows wise,
but a companion of fools suffers harm.
